As we reflect and wrap up 2023, I always like to take stock of all we have accomplished this past year in striving to meet our customers’ needs. Our goal is to continue to provide BeyondTrust product innovations and integrations that improve and advance our identity and access security solution offerings.
As we know, in the world of cybersecurity, no single solution can address every use case. In a recent Dimensional Research study examining how Identity Issues Impact Zero Trust Effectiveness, 99% of companies indicated the need for zero trust solutions to integrate with numerous other applications. The same report found that 93% of respondents had an identity-related incident in the last eighteen months, and 93% of those companies reported their identity issues stemmed from integration issues. That will certainly cause you to say, “Bah Humbug!”
This is why our technology integrations are so critical to us here at BeyondTrust. Having a holistic approach to identity security is a must. The BeyondTrust Technology Alliance Program (TAP) is focused on enabling seamless integrations to empower our customers to address these challenges.
The TAP elves have been busy at work building a number of new integrations to delight and thrill our customers and partners. So, to wrap up the year with a big, red holiday bow, here are the top 10 technology alliance integrations BeyondTrust completed in 2023.
1. AWS Partnering and Innovations
We have been very busy over this past year with one of our most strategic partners: AWS. We could fill an entire blog trying to cover all the new innovations and partnering achievements we have done together in 2023. Our new Amazon Translate support for Remote Support and the expansion of our relationship with AWS through the AWS Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Workload Migration Program (WMP) represent a few of the major highlights.
Joining the AWS ISV WMP reinforces BeyondTrust's dedication to offering enhanced security solutions for enterprises seeking a secure and streamlined transition to the cloud. The AWS ISV WMP provides advanced tools and resources for ISVs, facilitating the swift and secure migration of workloads on AWS. As a part of this program, BeyondTrust is poised to harness the power of AWS to fortify its solutions and simplify the migration process for our global clientele.
2. New Password Safe - ServiceNow Integration
Our new enterprise integration deepens the connection between BeyondTrust Password Safe and ServiceNow, enabling users to effortlessly request and approve access to managed systems and accounts. A seamless dance of access requests and approvals, much like a perfectly synchronized holiday light display, this integration enhances both user experience and security.
A user can now request to check-out credentials managed by Password Safe through ServiceNow within approved ITSM access flows. Once approved, users can initiate RDP or SSH sessions directly from ServiceNow. Be sure to check out the new integration here!
3. Privileged Remote Access and Ping DaVinci Connector
The integration of BeyondTrust with Ping Identity's PingOne DaVinci offers streamlined, user-friendly orchestration for organizations. It enables the termination of Privileged Remote Access sessions based on hostnames or user identities across an environment. It’s an orchestration as harmonious as carolers singing in unison, streamlining user-friendly access termination and incident response.
This integration also simplifies routine IT tasks, such as user management. Organizations can define permissions, manage least privilege access for employees and vendors, and respond quickly to security incidents. By doing so, this integration reduces the risk of users becoming entry points for attacks and helps prevent opportunities for lateral movement.
4. New SailPoint IdentityNow and IdentityIQ Integrations
On top of new Privilege Management for Unix & Linux integrations for both IdentityNow and IdentityIQ using Web Service, BeyondTrust is the first SailPoint Technology Partner to leverage the new SaaS Connector framework. This allows IdentityNow to release a SaaS Connector for BeyondTrust Representatives (Remote Support and Privileged Remote Access) and Privilege Management for Windows & Mac. The only integration missing for complete coverage is Representatives for IdentityIQ, which will be released in Q1 2024. Pioneering SaaS Connector frameworks, these integrations twinkle like lights on a Christmas tree, ensuring comprehensive privileged access management coverage.
5. IBM QRadar integration
The IBM QRadar integration has been released to the IBM Open Source Site. A gift to security teams, this integration provides real-time visibility and control over privileged access, much like how the magic of holiday lights can transform a neighborhood. Integrating IBM QRadar with BeyondTrust Privilege Management for Windows & Mac elevates an organization's security by providing real-time visibility and control over privileged access, streamlining incident response, and enhancing compliance. Security teams can leverage the integration to more efficiently detect, mitigate, and report on potential threats. Additional benefits include attack surface reduction, operational efficiency, and better user accountability controls via a centralized management framework.
6. New Jamf partnership and integration to enhance Mac endpoint security
The combination of BeyondTrust Privilege Management for Mac and Jamf provides our joint customers with easy deployment of privilege management and application control capabilities across their fleet of Apple devices. Together we provide powerful least privilege management and just-in-time application control while providing increased visibility and reporting on Apple endpoints. Streamlining the deployment of privilege management and application control capabilities across Apple devices allows us to offer organizations enhanced security and productivity. 7. Extended our integrations to include Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
This past year, BeyondTrust built up partnerships with companies like Blue Prism and UiPath, to help our clients better ensure the security of non-human identities. Together, through this integration, organizations can enjoy the gift of secure credential management, careful control over access to privileged accounts linked to RPA bots (aka the key to safeguarding the North Pole's secrets), monitoring and recording robot sessions (Santa's workshop efficiency at its finest), and utilizing security analytics to ensure a sleigh ride of compliance assurance.
8. Established new Hardware Security Module (HSM) integrations
We have collaborated with Thales, Dinamo, Entrust, and Fortanix on new hardware security model (HSM) integrations this year, helping our joint customers to provide even further levels of security and encryption. We have also added HSM support for cloud deployments of Password Safe that use AWS Amazon Machine Image (AMI), and we are working to expand HSM support to Password Safe for 2024.
9. Passwordless Multi-factor Authentication
We have also certified a number of passwordless multi-factor authentication solutions, including authID, Beyond Identity, BIO-key, BlokSec and SecureAuth. This combination of Passwordless solutions and BeyondTrust ensures that only authorized users and secure devices can gain access to privileged accounts on critical systems. A certification of solutions as trustworthy as Santa's naughty and nice list ensures only authorized users and secure devices gain access.
10. Automation Platform Integrations
Our new Terraform integration allows users to secure their Terraform-associated tokens, while executing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows, improving user and system security, compliance, and productivity.
The Ansible integration for Password Safe provides an easy-to-use method for users to secure and manage their Ansible related secrets for automated workflows. Password Safe customers can leverage this integration for (CI/CD) and DevOps workflows.
A final farewell to 2023
As we bid farewell to this remarkable year, BeyondTrust extends heartfelt wishes for a holiday season brimming with joy, serenity, and the comforting glow of connection.
May your days be adorned with merriment, our digital realms fortified, and as the New Year dawns, envision a world where technology remains the guiding light of advancement and safeguarding.
