What Changed in Identity Security in 2025—and Why Alliances Became Critical

As we reflect on 2025, the identity security landscape looks very different than it did just a year ago. The rapid rise of AI agents, accelerated cloud adoption, and increased attacker focus on privileged identities has created new challenges as well as new opportunities for organizations to strengthen their identity security postures.

For BeyondTrust, 2025 was a milestone year of strategic partnerships, expanded integrations, and ecosystem innovation. Each new partnership and integration announcement reflects our simple, but powerful goal: to help organizations secure every identity and privilege across every environment, with less complexity and more confidence.

This year-end recap steps back into the Christmas past to spotlight the most impactful partnerships and integration milestones that defined BeyondTrust’s technology alliances in 2025. Read on for this year’s highlights!

Partnerships & Alliances

A Landmark Cloud Alliance with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

In June, BeyondTrust announced a strategic collaboration agreement with AWS aimed at accelerating secure cloud adoption for joint customers. The partnership includes deeper technical alignment, coordinated go-to-market initiatives, and enhanced marketplace presence.

For customers, this translates to a more flexible deployment because it consolidates procurement and billing through AWS Marketplace, eliminating the need for multiple vendor contracts and approval cycles. Paired with validated architecture guidance, this approach simplifies cloud migration and accelerates time-to-value for securing identities and privileges across AWS cloud and hybrid environments.

Unified Identity Security with Ping Identity on AWS Marketplace

One of the year’s biggest alliance moments came with the BeyondTrust and Ping Identity strategic partnership. Together, we introduced a unified identity security fabric that blends BeyondTrust’s privileged access controls with Ping’s authentication, identity governance, and access management strengths.

The combined solution creates a comprehensive identity security fabric that automates and orchestrates access decisions across human and non-human identities, enabling organizations to strengthen Zero Trust initiatives, streamline governance, and accelerate secure digital transformation, including the investments being made in Agentic AI.

This partnership helps organizations collapse siloed identity tools and adopt a more cohesive identity lifecycle strategy, especially as non-human identities and AI-driven automation continue to grow.

And equally impactful, the combined solution is available directly through AWS Marketplace, allowing customers to more easily discover and purchase these solutions [and use cases] that include multiple products and services.

AI & Innovation

Securing AI and Agentic Identities Across the Ecosystem with True Privilege™

It would be an understatement to say that AI has seen rapid growth over the past year, but while this has brought about many benefits, there are also several organizational security challenges and concerns. The adoption of AI agents is no longer a niche trend. Board-level mandates are now compelling organizations to deploy AI widely, leading to a pervasive and often unchecked use of these tools.

By examining real-world risks with AI solutions from Microsoft Copilot, AWS, ServiceNow, & Azure AI Foundry, we demonstrated how BeyondTrust is securing privileged credentials and non-human identities before attackers can exploit them.

Community & Integrations

Product & Platform Wins

Strengthening Backup and Recovery Security with Commvault

Ransomware continues to target the “crown jewels” of enterprise resilience backups. That’s why BeyondTrust’s partnership with Commvault was a major milestone. The integration ensures least privilege and controlled access to Commvault Cloud operations, creating a stronger defensive layer around backup management, restoration processes, and sensitive storage systems.

This alliance helps organizations eliminate high-risk service accounts, reduce credential exposure, and ensure critical recovery paths are protected from misuse.

New Identity Security Insights® Capabilities for Human and Non-Human Identities

BeyondTrust Identity Security Insights benefitted from significant updates, reflecting the growing need to secure both human and non-human identities.

Key 2025 enhancements included:

  • Secrets Insights – Auto-detects, assesses, and helps remediate exposed secrets across hybrid environments.

  • AI & Agent Identity Governance – New visibility for machine and AI agents operating with elevated access.

  • MITRE ATT&CK & NIST 800-53 – Dashboards to identify and help remediate compliance exposures.

These capabilities empower organizations to better adapt their identity security programs to modern risks and emerging identity types.

Operational Integrations

Deeper Integrations Across ITSM, Endpoint, and DevOps Workflows

BeyondTrust continued to strengthen its “operate where customers work” philosophy, rolling out updates across leading IT and security ecosystems:

  • Our extensive ServiceNow integrations streamline approvals, ticket association, and just-in-time access. Learn now Paychex, Inc., a leading provider of human capital management solutions offering payroll, HR, benefits, and insurance services, helps customers manage their workforce and stay compliant through the BeyondTrust – ServiceNow integrated solution.

  • Our exciting new Endpoint Privilege Management just-in-time (JIT) access integration with ServiceNow allows users to request elevated application access and temporary admin rights only when needed. Additional features include automatic ticket closure as well as easily customizable workflows.

These enhancements reduce operational friction and align privileged security with day-to-day processes.

Validation, Recognition & Momentum

Industry Recognition Reinforces Partner Ecosystem Momentum

We can’t close out the year without noting that BeyondTrust was recognized for the seventh consecutive year as a Leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Privileged Access Management, alongside several other industry analyst recognitions. We believe this is a testament not just to the BeyondTrust teams and solutions, but also to our entire ecosystem. These third-party validations help our partners grow joint opportunities and give customers confidence in the direction and strength of the BeyondTrust ecosystem.
