We are thrilled to announce that BeyondTrust’s Cloud Vault has been recognized as a Winner of the Singapore Business Review Technology Excellence Awards 2020 . This prestigious awards program, coordinated by the SBR, annually recognizes the most highly innovative companies leading the technological revolution across Singapore and helping to boost the nation’s fast-growing economy. Nominees and winners are evaluated and chosen based on their technology project’s innovation, effectiveness and impact, flexibility, and scalability.
Cloud Vault Stands Out for Cutting-Edge Capabilities
The number of privileged accounts (both human and machine) and privileged sessions has been proliferating as organizations add more endpoints, increase cloud and virtualized instances, and embrace new applications, machines, and technologies that are all fast becoming essential to compete in the modern market. However, the benefits of these technologies are often undermined by critical gaps in the management and auditing of privileged access, which can lead to down time or data breaches.
Privileges are frequently unknown, unmanaged, or over-provisioned. One of the larger IT security problems is the misuse of credentials, which are often shared and inadequately secured. In Verizon’s 2020 edition of their annual Data Breach Investigation Report, they noted that the exploitation of stolen credentials by threat actors is on a “meteoric rise”. And with the right credentials—such as privileged credentials, attackers often don’t even need to bother with malware—because they already have powerful access rights that fast-track pursuit of their end goals. When you combine remote access with insecure use of privileges—you’re bundling two of the most dangerous and most-often targeted threat vectors. Cloud Vault elegantly helps address both of these areas.
Cloud Vault, as part of BeyondTrust’s Secure Remote Access Solutions, helps organizations gain control, visibility and compliance over their environment, with an easy-to-implement cloud-based solution. Launched in November 2019, Cloud Vault provides fast, essential vaulting capabilities for privileged accounts, from local or domain shared administrator, to a user’s personal admin account – even SSH keys. Cloud Vault is a powerful capability within the following two products, which together comprise BeyondTrust’s Secure Remote Access solution:
- BeyondTrust Remote Support enables help desk teams to quickly and securely access and fix any remote device, on any platform, with a single solution. Our solution enables the greatest number of remote support use cases with the most built-in security features, while unlocking powerful synergies with key service desk integrations. BeyondTrust Remote Support provides absolute visibility and control over internal and external remote access, secure connectivity to managed assets, and creates a complete, unimpeachable audit trail for compliance. Organizations of all sizes can boost service desk productivity, efficiency, and security by consolidating and standardizing help desk support with our solution.
- BeyondTrust Privileged Remote Access empowers IT teams to control, manage, and audit remote privileged access by authorized employees, contractors, and vendors, without compromising on security. The solution allows organizations to grant fine-grained access to enforce least privilege for each user. Users can securely connect from anywhere, to anywhere – no VPN required. With Privileged Remote Access, customers can extend privileged access to cloud assets, limit network traffic and ports to only authorized sources and applications, and meet compliance requirements through rich session controls and auditing.
Across BeyondTrust Secure Remote Access solutions, Cloud Vault eliminates the need for privileged users to remember or share credentials for the systems they need to access. Instead of requiring privileged users to know usernames and passwords for each endpoint, Cloud Vault can store those credentials securely, retrieve those credentials and inject them directly into a session. Each remote session produces detailed, searchable logs and video recordings that help improve security and simplify compliance requests. These features enable service desks and IT teams to manage both privileged sessions and passwords as well as vendor access in one solution, while protecting against some of the biggest cyberthreats.
Our customers can benefit from these capabilities either through a SaaS deployment hosted by BeyondTrust, or by deploying their solution to their own AWS, Azure, or Google private cloud environment.
Booming Demand in Asia Pacific and for BeyondTrust PAM Solutions
Over the past 12 months, BeyondTrust has doubled its regional team supporting our customers and future customers in Singapore. During this same timeframe, we have also tripled the size of our partner community to address the massively growing demand for our Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions in the region.
The top analysts, including Gartner and Forrester, have recognized BeyondTrust as one of just a few PAM leaders. Gartner has also highlighted PAM as the number one priority project for CISOs over the past two years, due to its ability to have a massive impact on both reducing the enterprise risk surface, and in better positioning businesses to improve their operational resilience.
Demand for our solutions has accelerated even further in the face of the coronavirus epidemic, and we are fortunate to have achieved the best quarter in our history this past Q1. During these challenging times, our rapid-to-deploy solutions that can start delivering value overnight have been pivotal in helping organizations—including critical healthcare, education and governmental agencies-—adapt fast and stay secure, while scaling their remote workforces.
The demand and need for cloud-based solutions has increased heavily the first half of this year, and we expect that trend to continue for the foreseeable future. Last week, BeyondTrust announced the availability of our industry-leading Privilege Management solution (which combines powerful least privilege capabilities with application control) as SaaS.
Today, over 20,000 customers rely on BeyondTrust solutions, and over 3,000 customers rely on our PAM cloud solutions. As the PAM technology and innovation leader, we continue to tirelessly develop and improve upon our portfolio of the broadest, deepest, and most integrated solutions to manage and secure the entire universe of privileges/privileged access. Whether customers are deploying our PAM solutions on-premise, in the cloud, or as a hybrid model, they know they’re getting the absolute best solution in its class to solve the many and diverse challenges around privileged access.
