October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, an initiative launched by the National Cyber Security Alliance and the federal government to raise awareness around the importance of cybersecurity and to offer resources to organizations and individuals on how to be safer and more secure online. 2021’s theme is “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” Catchy, yes. Empowering and necessary, absolutely. Cybersecurity is a globally shared responsibility, across all people, processes, and technology and it’s time to empower individuals and organizations to own their role in protecting their part of cyberspace.
Couple this year’s theme with the release of the Executive Order (EO) on improving the nation’s cybersecurity and protecting against sophisticated malicious cyber campaigns, it may be safe to hail 2021 as the pivotal year for Cybersecurity policy and prioritization.
Our October LinkedIn Live setup for a candid, unscripted discussion between industry-leading security experts around what Cybersecurity Awareness Month means to them, how they’re continuously elevating their security posture through user empowerment and enablement, and how policy like the EO has shifted the cyber conversation.
