Trident tours: Pastures new for Avecto

This week, Avecto moved into a new UK home just outside Manchester Airport – the brand new office, called Trident, is three times the size of our old premises. It’s the culmination of months of planning and follows new Avecto offices in Frankfurt, as well as a move from Cambridge, Boston to Somerville, MA to accommodate growth in the states.

It feels like a pivotal moment in Avecto’s history and everyone working at the office senses a step change. It’s like graduating or turning 30. Suddenly we’re grown up and we’ve created a family environment that’s fit for the future.

Leading a group around the office in my designated role as tour guide for the morning, I felt immensely proud of our achievements and could sense that others did too. Rightly so! We are proudly showcasing our Manchester roots in a creative theme which includes Spinningfields, Piccadilly Gardens and Deansgate zones. We have a fully kitted out gym, an amazing kitchen, games room and social hub in “The Printworks”, state of the art conferencing facilities and tech throughout, and plenty of space to expand even further.

Every single one of my colleagues has played their part in getting the company to this point, and some have really gone above and beyond to make sure the move has gone smoothly. As ever, there’s a real sense of community among the whole team.

I believe this unity stems from our recruitment process and that we look first for the right person (the will), almost before the skill. Experience certainly counts, but with the right ambition, passion and drive, so much can be learnt on the job.
