Three Wire Systems, LLC (Three Wire), a leading provider of cybersecurity, modernization, and cloud technology solutions for the United States Government, is the first BeyondTrust partner to achieve a Federal badge in BeyondTrust’s global partner program, PartnerTrust.
The badging program represents one part in a series of recent enhancements to the BeyondTrust partner program aimed at empowering partners and facilitating growth opportunities. By offering vertical badges, BeyondTrust provides a way for partners to demonstrate their leading industry expertise and differentiate their solutions. It also simplifies the process for customers to identify industry experts in their sector who are tailored to their specific needs.
To share our excitement, we’ve sat down with James Ebeler, CTO and VP of Three Wire. Read on to learn more about Three Wire, and how their partnership with BeyondTrust is helping government and federal agencies tackle some of their biggest cybersecurity challenges.
Q1: Tell us about Three Wire Systems and what role you play for government and federal agencies?
Three Wire is the leader in innovative and efficient technology solutions for government and federal agencies. With a deep understanding of cybersecurity engineering, software and application development, legacy management, zero trust, and cloud-based architectures, Three Wire differentiates through our people, processes, and performance in order to deliver optimal mission outcomes.
Q2: Drawing from your experience and perspective, what are the three biggest challenges federal agencies are experiencing today?
- Cybersecurity - specifically securing user access and networks.
- Cloud Migration - deciding what resources will need to be moved into the cloud.
- Application and Digital Modernization - including modernizing as quickly as is done in the commercial space.
Q3: How does Zero Trust play into these challenges?
Zero Trust is a component in what Three Wire likes to call the Security Ecosystem. It is important to set the foundation of any security ecosystem by leveraging zero trust principals – allowing for the security of networks and users. The main challenge is always ensuring that clients have access to the resources that they need when they need them.
Q4: How can an integrated approach between Three Wire Systems and BeyondTrust help?
Teaming together and utilizing the partner ecosystem only benefits our clients. Leveraging Three Wire and BeyondTrust will allow integration into a much larger solution outside of just one area. Our approach provides a solution that is comprehensive, cost-effective, simple to manage, easily accessible, and sustainable. Our ICAM solution offers over 100 pre-built and fully integrated use cases and workflows that can be easily modified or extended to address emerging organizational requirements. DoD Services and Federal Agencies can exponentially accelerate their ICAM efforts by leveraging our existing integrated ICAM processes.
Q5: What is an ICAM solution and how can it help?
ICAM is a framework of policies and technologies to ensure the right users have the appropriate access to technology resources. It helps to solve some of the challenges that are listed above by setting the base for seamless movement between multiple locations to meet a mission.
Q6: Can you provide an example or detail a scenario that can help show the benefits of your partnership with BeyondTrust?
An example of this successful approach is with a client we worked for within the DoD, where approximately 80 fully integrated workflows were delivered in a one-week timeframe, demonstrating a rapid and cost-effective solution for meeting ICAM enterprise requirements. Additionally, our ICAM solution allows for clients to reach IL-5 certification for storing and processing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) within 2 weeks of access to the solution.
Q7: What advice do you have for agencies who are looking for a solution and may be considering ICAM to help them address the above challenges and/or build towards a Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)?
The more we know the better. Having the specifics on what user needs what access and the timeframes on which they need that access, helps us help you! Resources may be in a cloud environment, on-premises, or in a hybrid architecture, and ICAM ensures the proper identification, authentication, and authorization of the individual for access to applications, systems, and networks. A tightly integrated, complete ICAM solution is critical to the foundational phase of any ZTA effort.
Q8: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Our experienced team has built some of the largest ICAM implementations on the most sensitive and secure networks in the world. The value that the ICAM solution, within the Three Wire and BeyondTrust partnership, brings to the client is exponential growth. Customers may have the remote access capability already, but now we go in with the intentions of how to expand the footprint into endpoint management.
