As Chief Executive Officer of BeyondTrust, Janine Seebeck is responsible for BeyondTrust’s long-term market and product strategy and leads the company’s day-to-day operations. She also guides BeyondTrust’s unique culture that is centered on integrity, transparency, respect, and innovation.
Seebeck joined the company in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer and expanded her role in 2020 to Chief Operating Officer as well. Prior to becoming CEO, Janine was responsible for the company’s financial, operational, accounting, IT, and strategic planning functions.
Janine has more than 25 years of senior finance and operations experience, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Agilysys Inc., a hospitality software leader. She previously held the positions of Vice President and Controller and Principal Accounting Officer at Agilysys. Prior to Agilysys, she served as Vice President of Finance, Asia Pacific, and Vice President, Corporate Controller for PGi, a global leader in virtual meetings. She also served as a Senior Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers. Janine is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree in Accounting from John Carroll University.
As Chief Technology Officer, Marc Maiffret is responsible for leading BeyondTrust’s product strategy and leading the global engineering organizations to address market needs in intelligent identity and access security. Maiffret is a well-known entrepreneur and executive with over 20 years of experience in security leadership at organizations such as eEye Digital Security, FireEye, SpaceX, and BeyondTrust. Maiffret founded his first company shortly after being raided by the FBI at the age of 17. As a security researcher, Marc was an early pioneer in Microsoft vulnerability research, including co-discovering and naming Code Red, the first Microsoft computer worm. Marc has presented at numerous security conferences and has testified before Congress on matters of national security. As an entrepreneur, Marc helped design and build some of the first products for Vulnerability Management, Web Application Firewalling, Endpoint Security, and Malware Detonation. Marc has written for numerous publications and is regularly sought after by media organizations to break down complex security topics.
As Chief Revenue Officer, Brent Thurrell is responsible for BeyondTrust’s global go-to-market strategy, revenue growth, sales enablement, and partner program. Thurrell joined the company in 2012, previously leading the EMEIA Sales organization as Senior Vice President, EMEIA and APJ. He has significant experience in the information security industry with extensive work in the Identity and Access Management sector on projects ranging from SSO - Access Control through to Federated Identity. Prior to BeyondTrust, Brent held previous management and sales team positions for Xerox and Capita in the UK. His experience notably includes the successful introduction and early stage growth of access governance vendor Aveksa and the Roles-Based Access Control vendor Vaau (since acquired by Sun Microsystems) into Europe. Brent graduated from Manchester University with a BSc in Business Management.
As Chief Human Resources Officer of BeyondTrust, Mark Rankin oversees all aspects of HR, including Talent Acquisition and Development, Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, and HR Operations. He has more than 20 years of human resources and strategy experience, most recently serving as the global Head of HR Centers of Excellence for Invesco. Rankin previously held the positions of Director of Retirement strategy, led an internal consulting team at Wells Fargo, and was a Case Team Leader at Bain & Company. He started his career at Hewitt as an HR outsourcing consultant designing and administering defined contribution and flexible benefit plans in the US and UK. Mark earned a BA degree in economics from Haverford College and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
As Chief Financial officer, Joost Rutten is responsible for the Company’s financial, operational, accounting, and IT functions. Joost has over 15 years of professional experience in software and financial services. Most recently, Rutten was CFO at PowerPlan, where he was responsible for running the accounting, FP&A, financial operations, and legal functions at the company. Prior to joining PowerPlan, he was the CFO at Liaison Technologies and held strategic leadership positions at several organizations, including SAP SuccessFactors. As Division CFO, Joost was responsible for leading and managing the finance function and managing the global P&L of SuccessFactors. Joost has a tremendous track record of building organizations with a focus on business partnerships and strategy. Joost did not take a traditional career route in becoming a CFO. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and then completed his Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands where he is originally from. Joost is fluent in English and Dutch and has a basic understanding of German.
Morey J. Haber is the Chief Security Officer at BeyondTrust. He has more than 25 years of IT industry experience and has authored four books: Privileged Attack Vectors, Asset Attack Vectors, Identity Attack Vectors, and Cloud Attack Vectors. Haber is a founding member of the industry group Transparency in Cyber, and in 2020 was elected to the Identity Defined Security Alliance (IDSA) Executive Advisory Board. Morey currently oversees BeyondTrust security and governance for corporate and cloud-based solutions and regularly consults for global periodicals and media. He originally joined BeyondTrust in 2012 as a part of the eEye Digital Security acquisition where he served as a Product Owner and Solutions Engineer since 2004. Prior to eEye, he was Beta Development Manager for Computer Associates, Inc. He began his career as Reliability and Maintainability Engineer for a government contractor building flight and training simulators. Morey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
As Chief Customer Officer, Sean Cashin is responsible for enabling customers to achieve business objectives and cybersecurity goals with BeyondTrust solutions. Sean has more than 25 years of experience in Software Development, Operations, Transformational Change, and Customer Experience/Customer Success roles. Sean works with teams across the company to create an exceptional experience for BeyondTrust customers. Sean directly manages the Customer Success Management, Education, Enablement, Professional Services, Support, and Technical Account Management organizations worldwide. Early in his career, Sean developed, delivered, and managed productivity, time, and knowledge management software across varied industries, including shipbuilding and telco. Prior to BeyondTrust, he was an executive and consultant at NTT DATA, focusing on Operations Excellence and Automation, primarily in the Financial Services world. Sean is a graduate of ITI Halifax with an MCPM from the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Brett Theiss is responsible for BeyondTrust’s global marketing strategy. He is passionate about building our brand reputation and amplifying our leadership position in the evolving identity security market. With more than twenty years of technology and SaaS marketing experience, Brett has built and led world-class marketing teams that drive strong revenue growth. Prior to BeyondTrust, Brett served as Chief Marketing Officer at Anaplan and held various leadership positions at Xactly, CA Technologies (a Broadcom company), Lumen Technologies (formerly CenturyLink), and AT&T. Brett has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentrations in marketing and computer science from Millsaps College in Mississippi, and a Master of Law from Texas A&M University.
As General Counsel of BeyondTrust, Bill Jones is responsible for managing all legal matters, including serving as corporate secretary, driving the company’s legal strategy, and overseeing the contracting, corporate governance, and compliance functions. Jones has more than 18 years of experience advising technology firms, with the majority of that time spent supporting high-growth strategies at a variety of leading technology companies, including Tata Communications, Symantec, and T-Mobile (formerly Sprint Nextel). Most recently, Bill served as Deputy General Counsel for Blackboard, where he first managed the day-to-day legal aspects of the company’s international expansion efforts and expanded his role to include management of Blackboard’s transactions worldwide. Bill holds a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
As Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, Julie Jones partners closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, leading the development, planning, and implementation of strategic and transformational initiatives that accelerate growth for BeyondTrust, including go-to-market, channels, cloud, customer experience, culture, acquisitions, and business process improvement. Jones brings more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, including her career with Insight, Avnet, and Tech Data, serving in a variety of successive leadership roles in marketing and strategy. Most recently, she served as Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer for Vixxo, a technology-enabled facilities management company, where she led the development and implementation of the company’s cloud-based technology strategy. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and MBA from Arizona State University.
