As Chief Executive Officer of BeyondTrust, Matt Dircks is responsible for BeyondTrust’s long-term market and product strategy and leads the company’s day-to-day operations. He also guides BeyondTrust’s unique culture that is centered on integrity, transparency, respect, and innovation.
Dircks has more than 25 years of experience in the software industry with roles encompassing product strategy, product management, engineering, sales, marketing, and corporate development. Prior to becoming CEO of Bomgar, which became BeyondTrust in 2018, he was the Vice President and General Manager of Service Support Products at BMC software, joining BMC through the acquisition of Numara Software in February 2012 where he was Vice President of Products since 2008. Before Numara, Dircks served as General Manager of the Server Virtualization Business at Quest Software.
Previously, Dircks was President of Full Armor Corporation, a start-up he helped transform from a single-product business into a highly-scalable multi-product, multi-channel corporation. He also served as Senior Vice President of Products & Markets at NetIQ Corp, and General Manager for the Web Products Group and Director of Worldwide Product Management at Citrix Systems. Dircks holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Iowa.
As Chief Operating Officer, Janine Seebeck is responsible for the Company’s financial, operational, accounting, IT, and strategic planning functions. Seebeck has more than 20 years of senior finance and operations experience, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Agilysys Inc., a hospitality software leader. She previously held the positions of Vice President and Controller and Principal Accounting Officer at Agilysys. Prior to Agilysys, Seebeck served as Vice President of Finance, Asia Pacific, and Vice President, Corporate Controller for Premiere Global Services, Inc., a global leader in virtual meetings. Seebeck also served as a Senior Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree in Accounting from John Carroll University.
As Chief Revenue Officer, Brent Thurrell is responsible for BeyondTrust’s global go-to-market strategy, revenue growth sales enablement, and partner program. Thurrell joined the company in 2012, previously leading the EMEIA Sales organization as Senior Vice President, EMEIA and APJ. He has significant experience in the information security industry with extensive work in the Identity and Access Management sector on projects ranging from SSO - Access Control through to Federated Identity. Prior to BeyondTrust, Brent held previous management and sales team positions for Xerox and Capita in the UK. His experience notably includes the successful introduction and early stage growth of access governance vendor Aveksa and the Roles Based Access Control vendor Vaau (since acquired by Sun Microsystems) into Europe. Brent graduated from Manchester University with BSc in Business Management.
As Chief Human Resources Officer of BeyondTrust, Mark Rankin oversees all aspects of HR including Talent Acquisition and Development, Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, and HR Operations. He has more than 20 years of human resources and strategy experience, most recently serving as the global Head of HR Centers of Excellence for Invesco. Mr. Rankin previously held the positions of Director of Retirement strategy and lead an internal consulting team at Wells Fargo and was a Case Team Leader at Bain & Company. He started his career at Hewitt as an HR outsourcing consultant designing and administering defined contribution and flexible benefit plans in the US and UK. Mr. Rankin earned a BA degree in economics from Haverford College and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
As Chief Financial officer, Joost Rutten is responsible for the Company’s financial, operational, accounting, and IT functions. Joost has over 15 years of professional experience in software and financial services. Most recently, Joost was CFO at PowerPlan where he was responsible for running the accounting, FP&A, financial operations, and legal functions at the company. Prior to joining PowerPlan, he was the CFO at Liaison Technologies and held strategic leadership positions at several organizations including SAP SuccessFactors. As Division CFO, Joost was responsible for leading and managing the finance function and managing the global P&L of SuccessFactors. Joost has a tremendous track record of building organizations with a focus on business partnerships and strategy. Joost did not take a traditional career route in becoming a CFO. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and then completed his Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands where he is originally from. Joost is fluent in English and Dutch and has a basic understanding of German
Marc Maiffret is a well-known entrepreneur and executive with over 20 years of experience in security leadership at organizations such as eEye Digital Security, FireEye, SpaceX, and BeyondTrust. Marc founded his first company shortly after being raided by the FBI at the age of 17. As a security researcher Marc was an early pioneer in Microsoft vulnerability research, including co-discovering and naming Code Red, the first Microsoft computer worm. Marc has presented at numerous security conferences and has testified before Congress on matters of national security. As an entrepreneur, Marc helped design and build some of the first products for Vulnerability Management, Web Application Firewalling, Endpoint Security, and Malware Detonation. Marc has written for numerous publications and is regularly sought after by media organizations to break down complex security topics.
As Chief Product Officer, Raj Cherukuri is responsible for leading BeyondTrust’s product strategy and leading the global engineering organizations to address market needs in intelligent identity and access security. In 2010, Cherukuri joined Bomgar, which became BeyondTrust in 2018, and has held various leadership roles within engineering while guiding Bomgar's transition from a single remote support offering to a multi-product, multi-deployment comprehensive privileged access management solution. With 20+ years in product development, Cherukuri has also held leadership positions in IT and product management, and served as a CTO. Prior to BeyondTrust, Cherukuri served in roles at SkyTel, Verizon, and SkyGuard. Cherukuri holds an M.S in Computer Science from University of New Mexico and a B.E. in Computer Science from Osmania University.
Morey J. Haber is the Chief Security Officer at BeyondTrust. He has more than 25 years of IT industry experience and has authored three books: Privileged Attack Vectors, Asset Attack Vectors, and Identity Attack Vectors. He is a founding member of the industry group Transparency in Cyber, and in 2020 was elected to the Identity Defined Security Alliance (IDSA) Executive Advisory Board. Morey currently oversees BeyondTrust security and governance for corporate and cloud based solutions and regularly consults for global periodicals and media. He originally joined BeyondTrust in 2012 as a part of the eEye Digital Security acquisition where he served as a Product Owner and Solutions Engineer since 2004. Prior to eEye, he was Beta Development Manager for Computer Associates, Inc. He began his career as Reliability and Maintainability Engineer for a government contractor building flight and training simulators. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
As Chief Customer Success Officer, Dave Giles is responsible for making sure customers are wildly successful with BeyondTrust's solutions. Giles has more than 25 years of experience in Product Development, Product Management and Marketing, and Chief Customer Advocate roles. Giles works across the BeyondTrust team to ensure customer needs are at the center of everything BeyondTrust does, and he directly manages the Services, Customer Success Management, Education, Support, Cloud Operations and Renewals organizations worldwide. Early in his career, Giles developed, delivered, and managed productivity and accounting software in Japan at Apple and Intuit Inc. Prior to BeyondTrust, Giles served as Corporate Customer Advocate for Numara Software and led Product Management and Marketing for BMC Software’s Service Management portfolio. Giles holds bachelor’s degrees in Japanese Language and Economics from Stanford University.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Liz Shulof is responsible for all aspects of Marketing, including Corporate Communications, Digital Marketing, Product Marketing, and Field Marketing. Shulof has more than 15 years of experience developing and managing strategic and marketing initiatives for B2B technology companies. Before joining BeyondTrust, Shulof served as Vice President at Greenough Communications, where she managed public relations programs for clients, including Quest Software, Numara Software, and IGEL Technology. Previously, Shulof spent more than five years in strategy and technology consulting with Accenture. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Purdue University.
As General Counsel of BeyondTrust, Bill Jones is responsible for managing all legal matters, including driving the company’s legal strategy, and overseeing the company’s contracting, corporate governance and legal compliance functions. Bill has more than 18 years of experience, with the majority of that spent supporting high-growth strategies at a variety of leading technology companies, including Tata Communications, Symantec, and T-Mobile (formerly Sprint Nextel). Most recently, Bill served as Deputy General Counsel for Blackboard, where he first managed the day-to-day legal aspects of the company’s international expansion efforts and went on to manage all of Blackboard’s transactions worldwide. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
