Manchester-based security software company, Avecto, was shortlisted for Business of the Year at last night’s MEN Business of the Year awards, held at the Midland Hotel.
Now in its 21st year, the MEN Business of the Year awards represent a celebration of the companies, business leaders and teams who have demonstrated the drive, foresight and courage to steer the most effective course through stormy economic waters.
Shortlisted in the "turnover under £10m" category, it marks yet another significant achievement for the fast-growing company. Earlier this year, Avecto co-founders Mark Austin and Paul Kenyon were named Northern Tech Entrepreneurs of the Year by Ernst and Young. The company also recently announced 26% year on year growth and launched its new proactive endpoint security software, Defendpoint.
Mark Austin, CEO of Avecto said: "It's been a very busy period for everyone at Avecto and to make the shortlist for this prestigious award is a great achievement. We've put a lot of hard work into building Avecto into a software company which competes on the global stage, yet never forgetting our home and roots in Manchester. We're incredibly proud to be a Manchester-based business, so to be recognised as a finalist is a great honour."
