Avecto, the leader in Windows Privilege Management, today announced that it has joined the McAfee® Security Innovation Alliance™ (SIA) partner program.
Under the McAfee SIA program, Avecto will integrate its Privilege Guard solution with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), enabling customers to centrally manage and report on application privileges across desktops and servers.
Avecto's Privilege Guard solution enables IT departments to delegate privileges to individual applications and tasks, eliminating the need to grant administrative rights to users. This state of 'least privilege' means that users run as standard, and are provided with the minimum rights to perform their roles based on the applications they use and the tasks they perform.
"Privilege Guard provides many benefits, including increased desktop and server security, reduced operational costs and the ability to meet external or internal compliance initiatives", said Mark Austin, CTO at Avecto. "Avecto's partnership with McAfee will benefit our joint customers by enabling them to manage and report on privileged activity through tight integration with McAfee ePO".
By integrating with ePO, Avecto will extend its award winning privilege management solution to McAfee customers, providing them with rich reporting capabilities and proactive management of the Privilege Guard from within ePO.
"By implementing products that are compatible with McAfee solutions, our customers experience faster deployment times and reduced costs," said Ed Barry, vice president of the Security Innovation Alliance, McAfee. "Security should be easy to manage, so McAfee has taken the steps needed to open up its security risk management architecture and provide customers with the tools to easily manage their multi-vendor security environments. The result is greater protection, reduced risk and increased compliance."
McAfee ePO is the first platform that lets enterprises and governments centrally manage security and compliance products from multiple vendors, offering unprecedented cost savings and return on investment. With more than 35,000 customers and managing more than 60 million PCs and servers, this unique platform is helping Avecto extend their reach and create complementary functionality.
