A great song writer once wrote “So this is Christmas and a Happy New Year…”* and now is the time to wish everyone Seasons’ Greetings from all of us at Avecto.
One of the topics of discussion round the office this past week has been family Christmas traditions. And with the European team in town for our festive party it’s been really interesting to hear how our colleagues celebrate. One of my family traditions is to have a discussion (usually quite heated) on what we want to do in the incoming year and decide what has been the one thing each one of us is most proud of achieving in the previous year.
So that got me reflecting on Avecto’s successes and what we are most proud of achieving in 2012.
Well firstly, there are the awards: Being named as a Sunday Times TechTrack 100 “One to Recognise”, being awarded “Winner of Red Herring Top 100” European companies, and being named as “Innovative company of the Year” (security) at the Global Excellence Awards, was pretty awesome.
Then there’s the development of Privilege Guard (Edit: now Defendpoint). In 2012 we’ve announced three releases moving from version 3.0 to version 3.6 with each version containing new or greatly enhanced features which continue to put Privilege Guard at the top of the league in least privilege software.
Thirdly, there’s the growth of the company. This year we’ve doubled in size, opened our DACH headquarters and over the festive season we’re moving to new offices here in the UK.
Finally, our strategic alliances have really taken off. Our integration with McAfee ePO is proving to drive huge demand across the globe and we continue to work closely with other global System Integrators.
All in all I’m incredibly proud of what the team at Avecto has achieved these past twelve months.
So what are we going to achieve in 2013? Well I think I’ll leave that for another day…
Until then, please end 2012 with our very best wishes and have yourself “A Very Merry Christmas!”
Paul.
*P.S. Personally I think Elton John's “Step into Christmas” is the ultimate Christmas tune!
