With the upcoming launch of Apple iOS 11, we're expanding our screen sharing capabilities for the iPad and iPhone. Previously, iOS screen sharing required the device to be tethered to a Mac OSX computer. But let's face it, users often aren't with their computers when they need support on their device. Now there is no need to tether.
With iOS 11 + Bomgar, iPhone and iPad screen sharing is available over WiFi or cellular network connections. Users can receive screen sharing support on their iOS device no matter where they’re located. It's all coming soon in our app for iOS.
Improved iOS Screen Sharing
We have supported iOS screen sharing since the 2015 release of Remote Support 15.1.2. But due to restrictions in the iOS platform, this capability required the iPhone or iPad to be tethered to a Mac OSX machine. With the upcoming release of iOS 11, Bomgar is improving our screen sharing capabilities for iPad and iPhone devices. Remote Support is leveraging Apple’s new screen recording and broadcast capabilities in iOS 11 to allow real-time screen sharing with iPads and iPhones.
