We are thrilled to announce that we’ve been honored for the second year in a row by Info Security Products Guide, which recently named our Privilege Guard (now Defendpoint) a Silver winner of the 2013 Global Excellence Awards in the Identity Management category. We are pleased to again be recognized by the esteemed awards for our leadership in the least privilege management sector. It is our goal to continue providing deep visibility and control over corporate desktops and servers, enabling enterprises to strike the balance of user empowerment with corporate security.
The award is, of course, a great achievement for Avecto and we’re excited to carry our strong momentum from the first half of fiscal year 2013 into the second half. We wanted to take a few minutes to reflect and share some of our achievements and recognize those who have contributed to our growth.
Over the half year, we saw a 64 percent increase in revenue over the same time period as last year. This growth is significant, and we are pleased to report that the company is well positioned to exceed our revenue objectives for the rest of the year thanks to new product developments and partnerships. Along with the growth in revenue, we’ve also almost doubled our staff as a result! In order to support this growth, we have recently moved to our new UK headquarters at Cheadle Royal Business Park, as well as expanded to a larger DACH regional office in Munich.
So, what led to our success? We launched Privilege Guard 3.6, which included privileged account management, software downloading tracking, challenge/response controls and support for Windows 8 store apps. Furthermore, we continued to establish and grow deep strategic alliances, which help us to further our technology and channel partners. Our integration with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) is a prime example of a most meaningful partnership.
We of course wouldn’t be in this growth position without the support of our customers, and we are pleased to have secured a number of high-profile wins over the half year. We continue to target key markets including finance and banking, defense, utilities, healthcare and education, and look forward to acquiring new customers through the rest of the fiscal year.
Lastly, I want to take just a minute to quickly acknowledge the accolades we’ve received lately, in addition to the Info Security Products Guide award. The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 acknowledged us as “One to Recognize” for our continued growth in the privilege management sector, while Red Herring chose Avecto among its 2012 Top Europe 100 Winners and the Global Excellence Awards listed us as Innovative Security Company of the year. It is absolutely a credit to the hard work of our employees and we are very grateful to receive these honors.
It’s been a great half year, and with our recent 2013 Global Excellence Awards win, the second half of our fiscal year 2013 is off to a strong start. We look forward to additional growth in the form of new product enhancements, customer wins and partnerships.
