Software firm sees success with UK award wins
Endpoint security software firm Avecto continues to maintain its awards momentum with two high profile award wins in 24 hours.
On November 11, the software firm picked up a UK Tech Award for ‘Tech Growth Business of the Year’ at the awards ceremony in London. The award comes after the company announced record year-end financial results in July. Sales for the year exceeded $28 million (£18 million), which resulted in a 70% increase in revenues over the previous financial year. Operating profits also hit record levels, with an increase of over 300%.
Now in its 15th year, The UK Tech Awards are supported by PwC and held to celebrate the success, reward achievement and raise the profile of the UK tech community.
Just 24 hours later, on November 12, Avecto was also honoured at the Manchester Evening News (MEN) Business Awards, with the company named ‘Business of the Year’ in the ‘£5m - £10m turnover’ category based on its 2014 performance.
Paul Kenyon, co-founder and co-CEO at Avecto said: “We have achieved some fantastic success in 2015, it has truly been a landmark year and we have many more exciting developments in the weeks to come. To be recognized once again for our business growth is a huge honor and is testament to the hard work and dedication from the Avecto team day in and day out. This, coupled with a culture of continuous development and innovation, has propelled Avecto to new heights.
“We are also a very proud Manchester-based business, with an ambition to keep Manchester at the forefront of technological innovation. To be honoured by the MEN as a Business of the Year is a wonderful accomplishment and one that the whole team is delighted to win.”
Avecto’s Defendpoint software was also ‘Highly Commended’ in the UK IT Industry Awards for ‘Security Innovation of the Year’ on November 18.
