Privilege Guard is now fully managed through McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, offering advanced, scalable and flexible security management
Avecto, a market leader in privilege management software, today announced the general availability of its Privilege Guard ePO edition at the InfoSecurity Europe Conference, held April 23-25, 2013 in London, United Kingdom.
With this new Privilege Guard ePO edition, organizations can now achieve comprehensive and flexible security management by deploying the solution directly from within McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (McAfee ePO). The standalone edition offers joint Avecto and McAfee customers a single management console and architecture, from which they can simplify implementations, seamlessly configure policies, and deploy the Privilege Guard client to the endpoints, all within minutes. Reporting and auditing on privileged based events across the enterprise is collated and viewed within the McAfee ePO management console.
"To simplify the integration and management of security solutions for our global customers, we are committed to partnering with innovative industry vendors across the globe," said Ed Barry, vice president of the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance. "Through tight integration with McAfee ePO, Avecto is offering our mutual customers greater protection, reduced risk and increased compliance to address their desktop and server security needs."
Privilege Guard ePO edition boasts three additional benefits that strengthen security across corporate desktops and servers:
- Policy Management - provides full policy management from within the McAfee ePO console, including the ability to automatically create policies from audit events that are captured at the endpoints and forwarded to McAfee ePO.
- Privilege Guard Client Deployment - enables the deployment of the Privilege Guard client through McAfee ePO, including tracking the versions of the client that have been deployed to endpoints across the enterprise.
- Enterprise Auditing and Reporting - provides granular control over the events that are forwarded from the endpoints to McAfee ePO, including a range of McAfee ePO dashboards that report on privileged applications, processes and users.
"Privilege Guard ePO edition is truly a best-of-breed technology solution for Avecto and McAfee customers who are increasingly demanding desktop and server protection, reduced operational costs and greater compliance," said Mark Austin, Avecto CEO. "By combining the security, flexibility and usability benefits of Avecto's Privilege Guard with McAfee ePO's scalability and automation, we are offering organizations impenetrable security controls and a more holistic approach to privilege management and application security."
