Endpoint security vendor Avecto today announced the integration of Defendpoint security software with Intel Security’s McAfee Threat Intelligence Exchange (TIE) via the McAfee Data Exchange Layer (DXL). As a member of the Intel Security Innovation Alliance, Avecto is proud to enter general release with a fully integrated solution and extend to customers the ability to make more informed decisions on the endpoint.

Building deeper integration among security products, McAfee DXL empowers organizations with a clear view and a more intelligent understanding of their security environment. Avecto’s Defendpoint is a multi-layered endpoint protection solution which allows organizations to stop cyberattacks by combining least privilege, whitelisting and content isolation.

With Defendpoint now offered as a McAfee DXL-ready solution, the integration allows application reputation data to be used to drive configuration changes and make risk-based policy adjustments powered by third party data. As part of this industry disrupting integration with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), Defendpoint offers simplified management, further solidifying the technology partnership.

Mark Austin, co-founder and co-CEO at Avecto said: “One of the key challenges facing our industry is joined up thinking, and the McAfee DXL platform is a significant step forward from Intel Security. Avecto has always advocated a connected and coordinated approach to security, so this technology integration was a natural fit. It allows organizations to draw on all the available intelligence giving them the best chance of identifying the known good and bad, to proactively stop threats before they cause any damage.”

DJ Long, senior director and head of Intel Security Innovation Alliance added: “Avecto’s integration with Intel Security solutions will provide customers with actionable intelligence to manage their multi-vendor security environments. By implementing Avecto’s proactive Defendpoint software, which is tightly integrated with Intel Security solutions, customers will experience faster deployment times, leading to reduced costs as well as improved security.”
