Avecto, the market leader in privilege management, today announced the latest version of its Privilege Guard ePO Edition technology at the McAfee FOCUS 2013 conference, held Oct. 1 - 3 in Las Vegas.
Privilege Guard ePO Edition 3.8 enhances Avecto's award winning solution, which provides complete management of Privilege Guard from within the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) platform. This latest edition introduces many new features, including remote PowerShell control, which provides system administrators with flexible and secure management over remote desktops and servers. Other additions include granular control over Windows services, enabling a system administrator or power user to stop and start specific services, while preventing unauthorized interaction with other services.
"Today's threat landscape is a rapidly moving target, driving businesses to continually adapt their defenses," said Mark Austin, Avecto CEO. "Privilege management is an essential mitigation strategy in the fight against targeted cyber-attacks. With Privilege Guard ePO Edition, organizations can leverage their existing investment in McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, enabling complete management of the Privilege Guard solution from within the ePO console."
Avecto will be a key contributor to the FOCUS 13 program with co-founder and CEO Mark Austin leading a session, "Implementing Least Privilege to Achieve the Balance between User Empowerment, Security and Compliance," on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 2:30 - 3:20 PM. Avecto will be joined by PricewaterhouseCoopers Switzerland, to explain how they are using privilege management to address the CISO challenges of security breaches, data loss, potential litigation and insider threats. In addition, as a Gold Sponsor, Avecto will provide demonstrations of Privilege Guard ePO Edition 3.8 on the FOCUS 13 sponsor floor at booth 116.
