PowerBroker for Windows 7.8.9.7 Release Notes

December 23, 2021

An issue has been identified with in-place upgrades from 7.8.8.21 clients to 7.8.9.7. To proceed with upgrading, first uninstall 7.8.8.21, and then install 7.8.9.7. This issue will be resolved in a future release planned for early Q1 2022. For more information about PowerBroker for Windows 7.8.8.21, please see PowerBroker for Windows 7.8.8.21 Release Notes.

Please upgrade directly to version 7.9.0.7, as some customers have reported that a few 32-bit apps (configured in compatibility mode) crash on Windows 10 endpoints with this release. These issues have been resolved in 7.9.0.7.

New Features and Enhancements:

  • Microsoft Windows 11 2021H2 is now supported.
Some apps in Windows 11, for example, Notepad, MS Paint, Photos, Calculator, etc., will require a new rule to be created, as their paths have changed in Windows 11. For more information, please see Windows 11: Notepad and MS Paint are getting new Fluent header.

Issues Resolved:

  • Resolved issues with Windows 11 compatibility.
