Sharing Best Practices of Reducing Risks Associated with Administrative Privileges
Agoura Hills, Calif. – July 19, 2010 – BeyondTrust, the global leader in privilege delegation and authorization management, today announced that BeyondTrust VP of Product Management Saurabh Bhatnagar will be presenting at the Texas Regional Infrastructure Security Conference (TRISC) on Tuesday, July 20th at 2:30 CDT at the Embassy Suites Outdoor World in Grapevine, Texas.
In his presentation “Less Is More: Implementing the Security Best Practices of Least Privilege,” Saurabh will discuss how IT can reduce the risks associated with administrative privileges without inhibiting productivity by creating a lockdown environment.
TRISC is a two-day non-profit conference sponsored by a cooperative of working professionals. TRISC provides an educational forum focused on the core challenges in the IT security industry. Each year professionals from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana meet at TRISC to share experiences, learn and network.
“Enterprises know they can’t allow users to run freely with administrative access. Not only can malware, spyware, rootkits and viruses leverage that access to change system settings, but users themselves tweak the standard desktop configuration in ways the result in excessive help desk tickets,” said Saurabh Bhatnagar, VP of product management, BeyondTrust. “The challenge they face is both protecting the user from themselves without going into a lockdown mode where the user can’t do anything. You can achieve security that way, but it results in even more help desk tickets from users just trying to change their system clock or connect to a wireless network.”
