BeyondTrust PowerBroker Now Certified for IBM Power Systems
IBM Validates PowerBroker’s Compatibility with IBM Virtual I/O Server Environments
Carlsbad, Calif. – September 8, 2010 – BeyondTrust, the leading provider of privilege delegation and authorization management, today announced PowerBroker for Servers has been certified as Ready for IBM® Power Systems Software™ using the VIOS Recognized designation. IBM awards the VIOS Recognized certification to technology solutions that pass the performance requirements expected of the software that needs to deploy agents into the IBM VIOS partition in virtual environments. This certification means that PowerBroker has met or exceeded the requirements set by IBM.
“PowerBroker’s Ready for IBM Power Systems Software certification gives customers in an IBM environment assurance that PowerBroker will mesh well with their pre-existing software stack for virtualization,” said Jeff Nielsen, VP of engineering, BeyondTrust. “As part of our product strategy to provide an end-to-end solution, we continue to invest heavily in integrating with other vendors and technologies to make privilege management increasingly simple for our customers.”
Virtual I/O Server is a special partition that owns and shares virtual I/O resources with client partitions. VIOS reduces costs by eliminating the need for dedicated network, disk and tape adapters and drives in each client partition. With the Ready for IBM Power Systems Software certification, IBM has approved PowerBroker’s compliance with IBM’s standards for products that deploy agents into the VIOS partition.
