Agoura Hills, Calif. — February 2, 2010 – BeyondTrust Software, Inc., the pioneer of Privileged Access Lifecycle Management (PALM) solutions, today announced record-breaking results for fiscal year 2009, with annual revenue growing 24 percent. During this year, BeyondTrust new product licenses grew by 37 percent, signed its largest customer contract ever for $2.7 million and significantly expanded its global partner base of end-to-end IT and network security providers in APAC and EMEA. The company launched the PowerSeries Management Console, released updated versions of its flagship products – PowerKeeper 4.0, PowerBroker 6.0, and Privilege Manager 4.5 and gained significant momentum with new partnerships and customer implementations. In addition, the company acquired Portsmouth, NH-based Windows desktop specialist, BeyondTrust, and changed the name of the company from Symark International, Inc. to BeyondTrust.

“2009 was the beginning of a transformation for BeyondTrust. During a weak economic climate, we achieved record sales while expanding our product portfolio to the Windows Desktop,” said John Mutch, CEO of BeyondTrust. “We significantly upgraded the talent level of our organization and forged new strategic partnerships. We also worked hard to provide the best solutions on the market to allow our customers to safeguard their sensitive data, protect against insider threats and secure resources from malware, by eliminating the risk of intentional, accidental or indirect misuse of privileges.”

In 2009, the company continued to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction, with more than 90 percent of its customer base renewing or expanding their contracts. It also signed with customers across a range of industries including leaders in government, financial and healthcare. To address the challenges that come with rapid growth and to ensure its future success, BeyoundTrust added the following industry veterans to its senior management team in 2009:

  • Matthew S. Collier – executive vice president of worldwide field operations. Collier oversees sales and technical support.
  • Steve Kelley – executive vice president of corporate development. Kelley oversees strategic planning and business development activities.
  • Brian Anderson – chief marketing officer. Anderson oversees all aspects of corporate brand development and will build a sales channel globally.
  • Bruce Aboudara – vice president of North American sales. Aboudara oversees sales of PowerSeries products to new accounts.
  • Saurabh Bhatnagar – vice president of product management. Bhatnagar oversees the creation of new products and market strategies.

The company also continued to strengthen the BeyondTrust brand through a series of customer, partner and technology announcements.

In the APAC region during the 4th quarter alone, several partners joined the BeyondTrust reseller program including: InfoSec Pacific, IS-LAND Information System Land Company Limited, LSC Group, Metanettics Limited, S & I Systems, Skyworth TTG Holdings and Software Vision Consultants. The company will continue to aggressively expand and recruit new partners in all regions in 2010.

In 2009, the company also announced BeyondTrust Professional Services, a new practice dedicated to expediting the incorporation of BeyondTrust’s PowerSeries™ solutions within a company’s IT infrastructure. The practice was created to reduce the risks associated with a new deployment and help companies get the maximum return on their security investment. This new practice enable its customers to manage solutions by transferring critical product knowledge through real-time guidance and instruction, as well as through structured product training sessions in the installation, configuration, and deployment through BeyondTrust University Classes.

Additionally, BeyondTrust entered into a partnership with Verizon Business, which is offering BeyondTrust PowerSeries privilege authorization software and integrating those security capabilities for UNIX/Linux servers and systems into the company’s already robust portfolio of security solutions for government customers. These new services – immediately available under the U.S. General Services Administration’s Connections contract – will help federal agencies comply with access control and accountability requirements associated with new stricter Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) regulations.

BeyondTrust’s solutions – including PowerBroker, Privilege Manager and PowerKeeper – empower enterprises to eliminate the risk of intentional, accidental or indirect misuse of privileges on servers and desktops. BeyondTrust helps organizations in all industries and across Unix, Linux and Windows IT environments. The PowerSeries Management Console automates workflows for privileged policy creation and approval, aggregates logs for reporting and audits, and centralizes policy management. BeyondTrust currently has more than 1200 customers worldwide, and its industry-leading technologies continue to help enterprises increase security and productivity, and comply with SOX, HIPAA, PCI DSS, FDCC and other federal and industry regulations.
