RIDGELAND, Miss. – Bomgar Corporation, the worldwide leader in secure, appliance-based remote support, announced today that MICROS Systems, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise applications for the hospitality and retail industries, has selected Bomgar’s enterprise remote support solution for both internal and external support. MICROS is using Bomgar’s one-of-a-kind secure support appliance to service more than 330,000 MICROS systems installed in restaurants, hotels, motels, casinos, and leisure, entertainment and retail operations in more than 130 countries.

MICROS requires a robust remote support platform that enables its technology support agents to provide superior service, while reducing overall cost.  In addition, MICROS requires a solution with world-class security features that can be maintained in-house.  MICROS chose Bomgar for the significant cost savings, and for its advanced logging capabilities, crucial to MICROS’s customers who must comply with standards, including the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI) and the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS). The MICROS team is pleased with how easy the Bomgar solution is to deploy and manage, and its seamless integration with Active Directory.

“Bomgar’s security and PCI compliance features, as well as its ease of use and single platform for internal and external support were the driving forces behind our selection,” said Shawn Zudal, vice president of MIS, MICROS Systems, Inc. “The deployment has been quick, easy and straightforward.”

“With the completed integration of our API into our CRM solution, we’ll have a comprehensive view of each customer, including support requests, results and tracking,” said Eric Seaman, vice president, customer support, MICROS Systems, Inc.  “Bomgar’s ability to track support sessions is crucial to customer support as we must report, for security reasons, when we initiate as well as terminate a session with an end-user.”

“MICROS’s selection of Bomgar demonstrates the increasing importance of security around remote support,” said Nathan McNeill, co-founder and VP of product strategy, Bomgar Corp. “The Bomgar appliance is the first and only remote support product to achieve full National Institute of Standards and Technology (FIPS) 140-2 Level 2 Certification, centralizing all support session activity to ensure that remote sessions are recorded and available for audit, which provides the security needed when accessing critical data.”
