Endpoint Privilege Management for Mac 23.7.1 Release Notes

October 10, 2023

  • Trellix (formerly McAfee) Agent (required if you are installing the Privilege Management client with Trellix)

New Features and Enhancements:

  • This release provides an enhancement to support macOS Sonoma. Privilege Management for Mac was updated to accommodate the changes to Apple's Endpoint Security Framework (ESF) to reduce the time frame for end users to respond to authentication messages, including Privilege Management for Mac messages.

Issues Resolved:

  • Resolved an issue where the Mac PMC adapter was not reporting updates to the computer details regularly. The macOS endpoints will provide updates when the PM Cloud adapter starts or restarts providing a more accurate picture of the status of the endpoint to PM Cloud Analytics.

Known Issues:

  • Using Run with Privilege Management for the Console.app in macOS will not work. This is due to changes with macOS which we’ve raised with Apple with a Feedback assistant ticket FB9739423. We are investigating potential solutions.
  • Using Erase All Data and settings… as an administrator within System Settings may fail to complete with Privilege Management for Mac enabled. We are investigating potential solutions.
  • Attempting to change boot volumes with Startup Disk within System Settings may fail to work with Privilege Management for Mac enabled. We are investigating potential solutions.
