Configure Kenna API Connector

Create a connector to forward BeyondInsight events to Kenna Security™ using Kenna's REST API. You must install the BeyondInsight connector in your Kenna instance and take note of the connector ID from the URL.

  1. In the BeyondInsight console, go to Configuration > General > Connectors.
  2. In the Connectors pane, click Create New Connector.
  3. Enter a name for the connector.
  1. Select Kenna API Connector from the Connector Type list.
  2. Click Create Connector.
  3. Leave Active (yes) enabled.
  4. Leave the default processing interval of 300 seconds or enter a longer interval if required for your environment.

Depending on your environment, generating reports might be process intensive. Enter a longer interval that suits your reporting requirements.

  1. Select the Kenna API server details:
    • Host Name: The URL for your Kenna instance. For example, https://<your instance>/kennasecurity.com.
    • API Key: The Kenna API key for your Kenna instance (found in Settings -> Applications).
    • Connector ID: The Connector ID for the BeyondInsight scanner added to your Kenna instance. The ID can be found in the URL of the connector details page. For example, 12345 is the connector ID in the following URL:

      https://<your instance>/kennasecurity.com/connectors/12345

    • Smart Rule Filter: Select a Smart Rule for a data source and enable the Honor Exclusions option to prevent vulnerability events that were marked as Excluded from being forwarded.
  2. Click Test Connector to send a test event message.
  3. Click Create Connector.
