Avecto recognised as an extraordinary company to work for

Manchester-based security software firm, Avecto, has been named as one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For in 2016.

Announced at an awards ceremony in London last night, Avecto was ranked 60th, and also awarded a coveted three star accreditation on its first time entering the awards programme. Based on employee feedback, the accreditation scheme follows a ‘Michelin style’ star rating, with three stars described as “extraordinary”.

This latest accolade follows a string of high profile awards for the software firm, including Manchester Evening News Business of the Year and Tech Growth Company of the Year at the UK Tech Awards. It also comes just a few months after Avecto moved to new state-of-the-art premises at Trident, Manchester Airport.

Paul Kenyon, Co-founder and Co-CEO at Avecto, commented: “I’ve known for a long time that Avecto is a fantastic place to work; but then you’d expect me to say that. The beauty of Best Companies is that it’s not my opinion that matters, but those of our team. It’s very humbling to make the list this year and to achieve three star status on our very first attempt is the icing on the cake.

“We are committed to creating an environment which nurtures the very best tech talent in the country, keeping Manchester at the forefront of innovation. We’ve recently launched our graduate recruitment scheme with great success and we’ll shortly welcome 15 graduates and a further two interns to the team. We have also invested significantly in creating a working environment in which our people can thrive, both professionally and personally, so it’s hugely rewarding to see that translate into a highly engaged team.”

Jonathan Austin, CEO and Founder of Best Companies added: “I would like to congratulate Avecto on their outstanding achievement. Our role at Best Companies is to support and encourage organisations to be great workplaces for their employees. An engaged workforce means happier, healthier, more productive and committed employees, which is clearly good news for all. We are delighted to recognise Avecto by awarding them three star status in our Accreditation standard.”

The Sunday Times Best Companies listing celebrates the best small, mid-size and large workplaces in the UK. It is widely acknowledged as the most searching and extensive research into employee engagement carried out in the UK.

Lists are compiled based on employee opinions on how the company: supports wellbeing in the workplace, gives something back to society, shows strong leadership and teamwork, provides opportunities for personal growth, and offers fair pay and benefits.
