Avecto, the leader in Windows privilege management, today announced that it has been certified as Citrix Ready®.
The Citrix Ready® program is designed to build world-class alliances with industry leaders of which Microsoft, Dell and HP are currently members.
"This is the first step in bringing our award-winning technology, Privilege Guard, to virtual desktops, whether hosted in the cloud or on-premise", said Mark Austin, CTO. "With the Citrix Ready® status customers can feel confident that Privilege Guard is officially validated and compatible with XenDesktop and XenApp".
Privilege Guard is the most comprehensive application control and privilege management solution on the market today. With Privilege Guard, all users log on with a standard user account and privileges are assigned directly to the applications that require them. Privilege Guard can manage locally installed or virtualized applications, and it can also handle on-demand software installation to cater for more advanced users.
Privilege Guard is integrated with Windows Group Policy, leveraging all of the benefits of Active Directory and Group Policy, including hierarchical policy management and delegated administration. Active Directory Group Policy also brings proven enterprise stability and scalability, as no additional backend infrastructure is required to manage the Privilege Guard solution.
This latest certification for Privilege Guard demonstrates Avecto's continued plans to work closely with trusted partners, through the Citrix Ready partner ecosystem, and to help deliver the least risk Windows 7 desktop to both physical and virtual desktop environments.
Update: Privilege Guard is now Defendpoint
Privilege Guard has now evolved into the new security suite, Defendpoint, which encompasses Privilege Management, Application Control and Sandboxing. For more information, please visit www.avecto.com/defendpoint.
