Portsmouth, NH - January 30, 2007 – — BeyondTrust Corporation, the leading provider of Enterprise Least Privilege Management solutions, today announced that Chief Technology Officer Marco Peretti has been selected to lead a Peer2Peer discussion at the upcoming RSA Conference 2007. The event will take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Calif. from Feb. 5-9, 2007.
Presentation Details
The Principle of Least Privilege is a security best practice developed by the Department of Defense over 30 years ago. It states
that each subject in a system should be given the most restrictive set of privileges necessary to complete their authorized
tasks in order to limit the damage resulting from accident, error or unauthorized use. This principle takes on even greater
importance in today’s enterprise computing environments, where properly limiting user privileges can play a key role in reducing
both the threat of data breaches and infection from malware.
During a Peer2Peer discussion, “Implementing the Security Best Practice of Least Privilege,” Marco Peretti will moderate an interactive discussion among network and security practitioners to address the following items:
Peretti, an enterprise security expert, has over 15 years experience engineering security solutions. As CTO of BeyondTrust, Peretti developed a dynamic per-process privilege management system to enable Least Privilege on Windows over two years ago. Before joining BeyondTrust Peretti founded SecureWave, an endpoint security software developer, and NeoValens S.A., a Windows security provider.
