BeyondTrust PowerBroker Version Support
Definitions
BeyondTrust’s major product versions feature significant new functionality and contain unique product numbers (e.g. PowerBroker Desktops Windows Edition 5.x). The latest major version of a BeyondTrust product provides the most up-to-date functionality.
BeyondTrust’s minor product versions also feature new functionality and are noted after the major release number (e.g. PowerBroker for Servers UNIX Edition 6.1). We advise all customers to upgrade their installations to the latest version of their installed major version.
Product releases, noted by the third version number (e.g. PowerBroker for Servers UNIX Edition 5.1.2 ), do not contain significant new product functionality - they fix problems with a current version. These are considered “maintenance releases.” It is not necessary to upgrade an installation unless you experience the problem fixed by the release. Releases are frequently unique to an O/S and fix an O/S-specific issue.
Feel free to consult with BeyondTrust Technical Support to determine whether a maintenance upgrade is suitable for your situation.
Support Policy
Maintenance (i.e. bug fixes, security fixes) is provided for a major version up to 27 months
after the release of the next major version. The end date of maintenance is listed below as
"End of Maintenance."
After that date, BeyondTrust will provide technical support assistance, but no fixes.
Very old versions will be supported to the extent we can. BeyondTrust recommends that
customers plan to migrate to the latest product major version before the End of Maintenance date.
For those products with “End of Sale” listed below, BeyondTrust will continue to license
existing customers. The support of the product will continue in its present condition,
without further upgrades or releases.
