Solaris Group Policy
PowerBroker Identity Services Enterprise Edition integrates Sun Solaris workstations and servers with Microsoft Active Directory so you can centrally manage all your Solaris computers with group policies.
PowerBroker Identity Services Enterprise Edition's Solaris group policies are can be edited with the Microsoft Group Policy Object Editor (GPOE) and managed for the enterprise with the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC). More:
You can use the PowerBroker Identity Services Enterprise Edition MMC snap-in for the Group Policy Object Editor to select the systems that you want to target with a group policy. If you have a mixed network, you can target a given group policy only at Solaris machines. The result is a proven, scalable approach for managing the settings of all the Sun Solaris machines in an enterprise.
PowerBroker Identity Services Enterprise Edition's Solaris group policy solution works like Windows group policy. After a Solaris computer has been joined to Active Directory, the PowerBroker Identity Services Enterprise Edition group policy agent runs in the background as a daemon. The daemon determines the list of group policy objects that are to be applied to the Solaris system. These Solaris group policies are not relevant to Windows computers because the corresponding Unix client-side extensions do not exist on a Windows computer.
PowerBroker Identity Services Enterprise Edition includes more than 80 group policies that can be applied to Sun Solaris workstations and servers. Here's a sampling of the available policies:
