Company Ranked as one of the World’s Largest Software Companies
Agoura Hills, Calif. — September 18, 2009 - BeyondTrust Software, the leading provider of UNIX, Linux and Windows security administration solutions today announced it has been listed in Software Magazine’s Software 500 ranking of the world’s largest software and service providers for the eighth consecutive year. For the past five years, BeyondTrust, formerly known as Symark International, has maintained an annual growth rate of 23 percent.
“It is an honor to be recognized for the eighth consecutive year as one of the world’s largest software companies,” said John Mutch, CEO of BeyondTrust. “Our company is entering a period of exceptional growth, especially with our recent acquisition of BeyondTrust. We will continue to meet our customers’ needs to address compliance requirements, while tackling insider threats, breaches and more.”
The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world’s largest software and services suppliers targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers and business managers involved in software and services purchasing.
“The 2009 Software 500 results show that revenue growth in the software and services industry was healthy, with total Software 500 revenue of $491.3 billion worldwide for 2008 representing 8.8 percent growth from the previous year,” said Software Magazine Editor John P. Desmond.
BeyondTrust’s PowerSeries solutions - including PowerBroker, PowerKeeper, PowerPassword, PowerADvantage, and Privilege Manager - help organizations in all industries control privileged administrator and end-user access to IT systems and proprietary information across heterogeneous IT environments. BeyondTrust currently has more than 1000 customers worldwide, and its industry-leading technologies continue to help enterprises combat insider threat and comply with SOX, HIPAA, PCI DSS and other federal and industry regulations.
The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2008. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. and posted at www.Softwaremag.com, as well as from public documents.
