BeyondTrust Continues Aggressive Push with Record Growth in 2011
Company Enhances Market Leading PowerBroker Product Portfolio
CARLSBAD, Calif., – Feb. 28, 2012 – BeyondTrust today announced that it achieved record financial performance in 2011 with 20 percent year-over-year sales growth, positioning the company as the leading provider of insider threat mitigation for global enterprises. The company’s substantial success over the past year can in part be attributed to the expansion of its PowerBroker product portfolio that includes the addition of PowerBroker Database, PowerBroker Desktops, PowerBroker Identity Services, PowerBroker Sudo Converter, and PowerBroker Servers Windows Edition.
The recent launch of PowerBroker Servers Windows Edition is the industry's first privileged identity management (PIM) solution for Microsoft Windows-based Servers. With this latest offering, BeyondTrust customers are provided effective least privilege capabilities for Microsoft environments to minimize the risk of rogue administrators and to fulfill compliance driven auditing requirements.
"Compliance efforts and security concerns have driven businesses to make substantial investments in threat control, yet the risks posed by poorly controlled access to administrative privilege in IT has unfortunately been given little attention," said John Mutch, CEO at BeyondTrust. "Our comprehensive product portfolio helps businesses combat escalating incidents of insider attacks by fundamentally eliminating the misuse of privilege."
With PowerBroker Servers, customers are provided critical privileged access management to help with federal, state and/or agency compliance regulations. The release of PowerBroker Sudo Converter will now help BeyondTrust customers quickly migrate their sudoer files to PowerBroker Servers policy files. The solution’s rich policies enable both the fine-grained control of privilege access control and securely records all privileged access for audits, including keystroke information.
The company has also made updates to PowerBroker Databases which enables customers to quickly and cost-effectively implement and monitor critical database security controls for privileged user activity, change management and data integrity. The latest enhancements to v6.6 now includes syslog audit policy alerting, enabling simple integration of database auditing with SIEM for common management of security and compliance activities around database infrastructure. The release now also supports MS SQL Page and Row Level Data Compression and Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
The management overhead and overload of maintaining obsolete directory services have led a number of BeyondTrust customers to adopt PowerBroker Identity Service (PBIS) Open and Enterprise. With this solution, customers can seamless connect Linux, Unix, and Mac OS X desktops and servers to Active Directory (AD). The latest edition of v6.5 includes new features that significantly improve scalability and manageability, allowing for better management of logging behavior and a new command line tool to fully manage AD.
In addition to expanding the BeyondTrust product portfolio in 2011, the company also cultivated key technology partnerships with Qualys and McAfee to help combat the rising concerns around insider threats and cloud security. BeyondTrust also conducted webcasts with eEye, Symplified and Catbird to help further educate IT professionals about ways to stay secure and compliant as they transition to virtualized and cloud environments.
BeyondTrust also strengthened its executive team by hiring Geoff Charron, vice president of engineering and Gus Jackson, vice president of sales for Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
