BeyondTrust Establishes Consortium of Industry Leaders with Security Advisory Council
Experts in Cyber Security and Insider Threats Gather to Discuss Leading-Edge Topics
CARLSBAD, Calif. – Feb. 9, 2012 – BeyondTrust, the leading provider of privilege delegation and authorization management solutions, recently hosted its first Security Advisory Council event in Las Vegas, Nevada. Designed to facilitate open communications between BeyondTrust and its valued customers, the consortium is comprised of a select group of industry leaders whose input is sought to address the rising concerns around insider security threats to organizations.
At the first annual meeting, members met to discuss leading-edge topics such as how they are adapting to insider threats in the cloud and mobile environments, as well discussing the convergence of multiple areas of security and the impact that has on an organization. The council also had the opportunity to review and provide feedback around product release plans as well as share security best practices with the group. Thought provoking discussions were also led by business partners regarding complete security ecosystems.
"We strongly believe our customers provide us the best opportunity and most intimate perspective to influence the decision making process, while helping us create compelling products that address real customer pain points," said Michele Shannon, VP product planning and strategy at BeyondTrust. "The feedback around this event has been overwhelmingly positive, with many members stressing how critical it is for organizations to adopt privileged identity management technology as part of the security framework to combat the rising number of insider threat incidents."
Member benefits include the opportunity to influence the development of BeyondTrust products and be enrolled in the BeyondTrust Early Access Program to explore and test early releases of the software, all while gaining detailed insight into confidential product roadmaps and plans. In addition council members have the ability to interact with other program members regarding their knowledge and experiences.
"The development of the BeyondTrust Security Advisory Council shows their commitment to providing solutions to the real-world problems their customers are facing," said Mark Howard, operations manager at Austin Powder Company. "It's both interesting and rewarding to have the opportunity to share my experiences and know that information is being used to develop the next wave of security technology."
The Security Advisory Council has 66 members including 12 large domestic and international banks and two government agencies, as well as companies in a host of other industries including, but not limited to retail and consumer goods, entertainment and healthcare.
