BeyondTrust PowerBroker Desktops 5.0 Achieves Certificate of Networthiness from U.S. Army
CARLSBAD, Calif. – December 1, 2011 – BeyondTrust, the leading provider of privilege delegation and authorization management solutions, today announced that PowerBroker® Desktops, Windows Edition v5.0 has received a Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) from the U.S. Army, approving its use in the Army Enterprise Infrastructure (AEI).
Companies applying for the CoN are assessed to verify and validate the products meet requirements such as network security, network impact, compatibility with the infrastructure, communications and information support. Only applications that are compliant with the U.S. Army's strict standards for security, support, sustainability, and compatibility are permitted on the AEI.
The Networthiness Certification Program is a collaborative effort between several Department of Defense organizations. Evaluations are performed to ensure systems being acquired will satisfy the Army's Networthiness Policy and thus comply with the Clinger Cohen Act.
PowerBroker Desktops allows government agencies to significantly improve desktop security by making it easy to remove administrator privileges from users without impacting productivity. The solution also addresses insider threats by eliminating the intentional, accidental and indirect misuse of privileges on desktops. PowerBroker Desktops is the latest BeyondTrust offering to earn the CoN.
"We are incredibly pleased to provide solutions that exceed the established security standards for government agencies," said Jim Zierick, EVP of product operations at BeyondTrust. "PowerBroker Desktops helps to secure the perimeter within for organizations across all Windows desktops, including virtual, physical and thin clients by providing consistent policy-driven, role-based access control with fine grained privilege delegation, logging, monitoring and reporting."
Having been awarded this certificate, U.S. Army bases can be confident when they install PowerBroker Desktops 5.0 that it will meet AEI standards and provide the access and security controls necessary to meet Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) mandates.
