BeyondTrust Announces Key Updates to PowerBroker Identity Services Enterprise Edition

New Features Include Single Sign-On and CLI-Based Reporting

CARLSBAD, Calif. – Oct. 20, 2011 – BeyondTrust, the leading provider of privilege delegation and authorization management solutions, today announced single sign-on and reporting updates to PowerBroker Identity Services Enterprise Edition v6.1. With these enhancements, customers can now use free, open-source application integrations, including single sign-on for enterprise applications such as Apache Tomcat, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic and JBoss Application Server. In addition, these updates offer the open-source community the opportunity to provide feedback and bug fixes, as well as any other contributions to improve and accelerate the development of the open-source tools.

"Single sign-on with these critical applications is a huge pain point for our customers and while other vendors charge a lot of money for application integration, we wanted to take the opportunity to deliver value to our open-source community and make life easier for system administrators everywhere," said Arne Gallagher, director, identity services division at BeyondTrust. "The newly open-sourced integrations include Kerberos/NTLM JAAS login module and SPNEGO Kerberos/NTLM servlet filter, which can be integrated with any servlet spec2.3-compliant application server, enabling users to use a single – yet secure – sign-on for critical enterprise applications."

"The open source single sign-on for enterprise applications is a great addition to PowerBroker Identity Services," said Peter Parker, analysis programmer at the State of Alaska. "This new feature enhances overall security, improves user interaction with fewer login prompts, and allows us to control access to critical applications based on user identity provisioned in Active Directory. And, because it is open source we are able to customize the integration for our specific application requirements."

In addition to single sign-on for enterprise applications, PowerBroker Identity Services Enterprise Edition now features CLI-based reports, enabling admins to run reports from the command line, without having to go to a different Web console.

Additional PowerBroker Identity Services Enterprise Edition Product Updates:

  • Improved support for Mac .local domain names and network shares
  • A single rpm/deb/pkg for installation
  • lwconfig tool for easy management of configuration changes
