OUR LEADERSHIP

John Mutch

John Mutch, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Mutch has been an operating executive and investor in the technology industry for over 25 years, and has a long, sustained track record of creating shareholder value through both activities.

Prior to joining BeyondTrust as CEO in 2008, Mr. Mutch was a founder and managing partner of MV Advisors, LLC, a strategic block investment firm which provides focused investment and strategic guidance to small and mid-cap technology companies. Prior to founding MV Advisors, Mr. Mutch was appointed by the U.S. Bankruptcy court to the Board of Directors of Peregrine Systems. He assisted that company in a bankruptcy work out proceeding and was named President and CEO in July of 2003. Mr. Mutch ran Peregrine Systems, operating the company under an SEC consent decree and restating five years of operating results and successfully restructuring the company culminating in a sale to HP for $425 million dollars in December of 2005. Prior to running Peregrine, Mr. Mutch served as President, CEO and a Director of HNC Software, an enterprise analytics software provider. Under his leadership, the company nearly doubled revenue and successfully spun Retek in an IPO that returned more than $2.5 billion to shareholders. HNC Software was sold to Fair Isaac Corporation in August of 2002 for $825 million. Prior to HNC Software, Mr. Mutch spent seven years at Microsoft Corporation in a variety of executive sales and marketing positions. Mr. Mutch previously served on the boards of Edgar Online (NASDAQ:EDGR), Aspyra (Amex:APY), Overland Storage (Nasdaq:OVRL), and Brio Software.

He currently serves on the board of STEEL EXCEL (SXCL:PK) and the board of Agilysys (Nasdaq:AGYS) as a director designee of Ramius Capital. Mr. Mutch holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S. from Cornell University where he serves on the advisory board for the undergraduate school of business.

Kevin Hickey

Kevin Hickey, President and Chief Operating Officer

Kevin brings a strong history of software operations, strategy, capital fundraising, and mergers and acquisitions to BeyondTrust, where he is responsible for the company’s day to day operations. Kevin joined BeyondTrust by way of the company’s acquisition of eEye Digital Security, where he served as CEO and Chairman. Under Kevin’s leadership, eEye experienced significant growth, launched several 'market-first' security solutions and brought the company back to category leadership. Prior to joining eEye, Kevin was CEO of NetPro Computing, where he helped grow the business before concluding its very successful sale to Quest Software. Kevin has also served as the president and CEO of Homebid.com, where he secured funding and eventually sold the business to industry leader HomeStore.com. During his seven years as president and COO at Viasoft Inc., Kevin led the company through a successful initial public offering prior to its sale. Kevin started his IT career at IBM, serving in several key marketing and executive business management roles.

Bryce Hancock

Bryce Hancock, Chief Financial Officer

Bryce brings over 15 years of executive operational experience to BeyondTrust which includes management of financial, accounting, human resources, risk management, and strategic planning and analysis, with both domestic and international entities. Bryce joined BeyondTrust via the company’s acquisition of eEye Digital Security, where he also served as CFO. Prior to eEye, Bryce served as Director of Finance at NetPro, where he was responsible for accounting and assisted with financial and human resource matters. He was also intricately involved in the due diligence process leading to NetPro’s successful sale to Quest Software. Previously, Bryce spent nine years at KPMG in its Assurance Practice, working with clientele ranging from private companies to publicly held global enterprises across many industries.

Marc Maiffret

Marc Maiffret, Chief Technology Officer

Marc leads BeyondTrust’s Advanced Research labs, responsible for identifying new trends in enterprise security for the benefit of the BeyondTrust product roadmap. Marc Maiffret joined BeyondTrust via the acquisition of eEye Digital Security, which he co-founded in 1998 and served as Chief Technology Officer. Marc is an industry visionary having created one of the first Vulnerability Management and also Web Application Firewall products which have been deployed worldwide and won numerous product awards. Marc is also a security research pioneer, credited with discovering some of the first major vulnerability discoveries in Microsoft software and leading one of the world’s most renowned security research teams. This has led to Marc accepting three separate invitations to testify before the United States Congress on matters of national cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection. Marc famously discovered the first Microsoft computer worm, “CodeRed” and was named one of People Magazine’s 30 People Under 30.

Mike Puterbaugh

Mike Puterbaugh, Vice President, Marketing

As Vice President of Marketing, Mike is responsible for leading key marketing initiatives that support the continued growth and technology leadership at BeyondTrust. Mike joined BeyondTrust by way of the acquisition of eEye Digital Security, which he had returned to in 2011 after leading the marketing organizations at successful exits at Stratavia (acquired by HP) and ColdSpark (acquired by BakBone). He was also part of the team that took MindTouch from an open source pioneer to a leader in the hyper-competitive social business software space. Prior to his original stint at eEye, Mike also held senior marketing positions at Quest Software, Mercury Interactive and Intel Corporation.

Brad Hibbert

Brad Hibbert, Vice President, Product Strategy and Operations

With over 20 years of experience in product strategy and management, Brad leads BeyondTrust’s solution strategy. He joined BeyondTrust via the company’s acquisition of eEye Digital Security, where Brad led strategy and products. Under Brad’s leadership, eEye launched several market firsts, including vulnerability management solutions for cloud, mobile and virtualization technologies. Prior to eEye, Brad served as Vice President of Strategy and Products at NetPro before its acquisition in 2008 by Quest Software. Formerly, at FastLane Technologies, which was sold to Quest Software in 2001, Brad worked extensively with key Microsoft business units on product direction and go-to-market strategies.

Brendan Evers

Brendan Evers, Vice President, Sales, Vulnerability Management & Endpoint Solutions

Brendan is directly responsible for the company’s revenue generation and growth for our vulnerability management and endpoint protection product lines, including strategic vertical markets across the world. Brendan joined BeyondTrust via the acquisition of eEye Digital Security, where he served in numerous sales management positions since 2003. Prior to joining eEye, Brendan spent eight years at CA (formerly Computer Associates), where he held several senior sales management roles in both Channel and Direct sales. Brendan holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York, Albany.

Gus Jackson

Gus Jackson, Vice President, Sales, Latin America, Asia Pacific

Gus is responsible for the sales of the BeyondTrust product lines in our emerging markets. Jackson brings more than 15 years of experience generating peak, year-over-year revenue and helping to boost profitability in underperforming regions for Quest Software. He was most recently the director of Latin America sales and operations for Quest where he increased revenue by 85 percent over four years within the region. Jackson has considerable experience in international business strategy, sales operations and has worked globally in a number of international markets across Quest, in these functions.

Anita Rose

Anita Rose, Senior Vice President, Server Solution Sales

Anita Rose has over 23 years of experience in both domestic and international sales, including a solid background in systems administration software. Ms. Rose is currently responsible for managing BeyondTrust’s Server Solution sales organization and has been instrumental in increasing sales year over year since joining the organization in 1995. Ms. Rose has been responsible for building dynamic sales organizations and has extensive experience with field sales, telesales, business development and channel sales. She has held a number of executive positions at various companies including Intersecting Concepts and Executive Software.

Brent Thurrell

Brent Thurrell, Vice President, Sales, Europe, Middle East, Africa and India

Brent is responsible for BeyondTrust’s Europe, Middle East, Africa and India organisation, having joined the company in early 2012. Having previously held direct sales, account management and sales team management positions for Xerox and Capita in the UK, the past 10 years have seen him specialise in the Information Security and Identity Management space having held a number of senior positions at cutting edge technology vendor and consulting organisations. His experience includes the successful introduction and early stage growth of Access Governance vendor Aveksa Inc and the Roles Based Access Control vendor Vaau (since acquired by Sun Microsystems) into the EMEA market.

Brent Thurrell

David Allen, Vice President, Engineering

As Vice President of Engineering, David is responsible for development and quality assurance for the PowerBroker and Retina CS product lines. Having worked in several other development and management roles throughout the years, David brings with him the decades of experience and knowledge required to manage high performance teams. Prior to its acquisition by BeyondTrust, David was the Director of Engineering for eEye Digital Security where he was instrumental in growing the development organization and increasing the delivery capacity of the team. Previous to eEye, David managed the Canadian Engineering team for NetPro before the acquisition by Quest Software in 2008.

Rob Babbush, Vice President of Human Resources

Rob has held a variety of senior administrative positions in rapidly growing technology companies. He holds particular expertise in developing corporate infrastructure to accommodate rapid growth while retaining an entrepreneurial environment. Rob has led the due diligence and integration process for 14 acquisitions ranging in size from $1 million to $65 million in revenue. Rob holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara, and an MBA in International Business Management from San Diego State. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at University of Phoenix and University of Redlands.
