Janine Seebeck, Chief Executive Officer & Board Member
As Chief Executive Officer of BeyondTrust, Janine is responsible for BeyondTrust’s long-term market and product strategy and leads the company’s day-to-day operations. She also guides BeyondTrust’s unique culture that is centered on integrity, transparency, respect, and innovation. Seebeck joined the company in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer and expanded her role in 2020 to Chief Operating Officer as well. Prior to becoming CEO, Seebeck was responsible for the company’s financial, operational, accounting, IT, and strategic planning functions. Seebeck has more than 25 years of senior finance and operations experience, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Agilysys Inc., a hospitality software leader. She previously held the positions of Vice President and Controller and Principal Accounting Officer at Agilysys. Prior to Agilysys, Seebeck served as Vice President of Finance, Asia Pacific, and Vice President, Corporate Controller for PGi, a global leader in virtual meetings. Seebeck also served as a Senior Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree in Accounting from John Carroll University.

Marc Maiffret, Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, Marc Maiffret is responsible for leading BeyondTrust’s product strategy and leading the global engineering organizations to address market needs in intelligent identity and access security. Maiffret is a well-known entrepreneur and executive with over 20 years of experience in security leadership at organizations such as eEye Digital Security, FireEye, SpaceX, and BeyondTrust. Maiffret founded his first company shortly after being raided by the FBI at the age of 17. As a security researcher, Marc was an early pioneer in Microsoft vulnerability research, including co-discovering and naming Code Red, the first Microsoft computer worm. Marc has presented at numerous security conferences and has testified before Congress on matters of national security. As an entrepreneur, Marc helped design and build some of the first products for Vulnerability Management, Web Application Firewalling, Endpoint Security, and Network-Based Malware Detection. Marc has written for numerous publications and is regularly sought after by media organizations to break down complex security topics.
Sean Malone, Chief Information Security Officer
Sean Malone, Chief Information Security Officer
Sean Malone is Chief Information Security Officer at BeyondTrust. Prior to that, he’s held leadership roles in security at multiple corporations, including Demandbase and Amazon Prime Video. He’s an experienced entrepreneur in cyber security as well, with leadership roles at two early-stage startups with successful exits. Sean is passionate about building world-class security organizations to earn customer trust and defend against attacks by sophisticated adversaries. He knows how the adversaries think and operate because he spent ten years as a simulated adversary in high-end red team engagements. Sean holds multiple cybersecurity degrees and certifications, is a frequent presenter at conferences, and holds a patent for his work in assessment of cyber resilience.
Brent Thurrell, Chief Revenue Officer
Brent Thurrell, Chief Revenue Officer
As Chief Revenue Officer, Brent Thurrell is responsible for BeyondTrust’s global go-to-market strategy, revenue growth, sales enablement, and partner program. Thurrell joined the company in 2012, previously leading the EMEIA Sales organization as Senior Vice President, EMEIA and APJ. He has significant experience in the information security industry with extensive work in the Identity and Access Management sector on projects ranging from SSO - Access Control through to Federated Identity. Prior to BeyondTrust, Brent held previous management and sales team positions for Xerox and Capita in the UK. His experience notably includes the successful introduction and early stage growth of access governance vendor Aveksa and the Roles-Based Access Control vendor Vaau (since acquired by Sun Microsystems) into Europe. Brent graduated from Manchester University with a BSc in Business Management.

As Chief Marketing Officer, Mike Puterbaugh is responsible for BeyondTrust’s global marketing strategy. He is passionate about building our brand reputation and amplifying our leadership position in the evolving identity security market. With more than 25 years of technology and cybersecurity marketing experience, Mike has built and led world-class marketing teams that drive strong revenue growth, including as part of the leadership team at eEye Digital Security, which was acquired by BeyondTrust in 2012. Prior to returning to BeyondTrust as SVP Product & Influencer Marketing in 2024, Mike served as the CMO at Pathlock, and also held various leadership positions at organizations like Intel, Mercury Interactive, and Quest Software. Mike has a bachelor’s degree in political science from San Jose State University.

As Chief Human Resources Officer of BeyondTrust, Mark Rankin oversees all aspects of HR including Talent Acquisition and Development, Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, and HR Operations. He has more than 20 years of human resources and strategy experience, most recently serving as the global Head of HR Centers of Excellence for Invesco. Mr. Rankin previously held the positions of Director of Retirement strategy and lead an internal consulting team at Wells Fargo and was a Case Team Leader at Bain & Company. He started his career at Hewitt as an HR outsourcing consultant designing and administering defined contribution and flexible benefit plans in the US and UK. Mr. Rankin earned a BA degree in economics from Haverford College and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

As Chief Financial Officer, Jason Godley is responsible for the Company’s financial, operational, accounting, and IT functions. Godley has over 25 years of experience spanning Big Four public accounting, Wall Street investment banking, and leadership roles in PE / VC-backed companies, including as President, COO, and CFO. Most recently, Godley served as CFO at Xactly, a Vista Equity portfolio company, where he oversaw Finance, Accounting, Legal, IT and InfoSec. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Wyoming, and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Most recently, Godley earned a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on the science of individual and organizational thriving. He grew up on a working cattle ranch in Wyoming, where he developed strong foundational life skills that continue to shape his work today.

As Chief Customer Officer, Sean Cashin is responsible for enabling customers to achieve business objectives and cybersecurity goals with BeyondTrust solutions. Sean has more than 25 years of experience in Software Development, Operations, Transformational Change, and Customer Experience/Customer Success roles. Sean works with teams across the company to create an exceptional experience for BeyondTrust customers. Sean directly manages the Customer Success Management, Education, Enablement, Professional Services, Support, and Technical Account Management organizations worldwide. Early in his career, Sean developed, delivered, and managed productivity, time, and knowledge management software across varied industries, including shipbuilding and telco. Prior to BeyondTrust, he was an executive and consultant at NTT DATA, focusing on Operations Excellence and Automation, primarily in the Financial Services world. Sean is a graduate of ITI Halifax with an MCPM from the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University.
Bill Jones, General Counsel
Bill Jones, General Counsel
As General Counsel of BeyondTrust, Bill Jones is responsible for managing all legal matters, including driving the company’s legal strategy, and overseeing the company’s contracting, corporate governance and legal compliance functions. Bill has more than 18 years of experience, with the majority of that spent supporting high-growth strategies at a variety of leading technology companies, including Tata Communications, Symantec, and T-Mobile (formerly Sprint Nextel). Most recently, Bill served as Deputy General Counsel for Blackboard, where he first managed the day-to-day legal aspects of the company’s international expansion efforts and went on to manage all of Blackboard’s transactions worldwide. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.

As Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, Julie Jones partners closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, leading the development, planning, and implementation of strategic and transformational initiatives that accelerate growth for BeyondTrust, including go-to-market, channels, cloud, customer experience, culture, acquisitions, and business process improvement. Jones brings more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, including her career with Insight, Avnet, and Tech Data, serving in a variety of successive leadership roles in marketing and strategy. Most recently, she served as Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer for Vixxo, a technology-enabled facilities management company, where she led the development and implementation of the company’s cloud-based technology strategy. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and MBA from Arizona State University.
