John Mutch

John Mutch, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Mutch has been an operating executive and investor in the technology industry for over 25 years, and has a long, sustained track record of creating shareholder value through both activities.

Prior to joining BeyondTrust as CEO in 2008, Mr. Mutch was a founder and managing partner of MV Advisors, LLC, a strategic block investment firm which provides focused investment and strategic guidance to small and mid-cap technology companies. Prior to founding MV Advisors, Mr. Mutch was appointed by the U.S. Bankruptcy court to the Board of Directors of Peregrine Systems. He assisted that company in a bankruptcy work out proceeding and was named President and CEO in July of 2003. Mr. Mutch ran Peregrine Systems, operating the company under an SEC consent decree and restating five years of operating results and successfully restructuring the company culminating in a sale to HP for $425 million dollars in December of 2005. Prior to running Peregrine, Mr. Mutch served as President, CEO and a Director of HNC Software, an enterprise analytics software provider. Under his leadership, the company nearly doubled revenue and successfully spun Retek in an IPO that returned more than $2.5 billion to shareholders. HNC Software was sold to Fair Isaac Corporation in August of 2002 for $825 million. Prior to HNC Software, Mr. Mutch spent seven years at Microsoft Corporation in a variety of executive sales and marketing positions. Mr. Mutch previously served on the boards of Edgar Online (NASDAQ:EDGR), Aspyra (Amex:APY), Overland Storage (Nasdaq:OVRL), and Brio Software.

He currently serves on the board of STEEL EXCEL (SXCL:PK) and the board of Agilysys (Nasdaq:AGYS) as a director designee of Ramius Capital. Mr. Mutch holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S. from Cornell University where he serves on the advisory board for the undergraduate school of business.

Ken Saunders

Ken Saunders, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Saunders is a senior finance executive with 25 years experience. Saunders has broad experience managing and driving the financial growth of both private and public companies. As CFO, Saunders guides all aspects of the company’s financial operations.

Immediately prior to joining BeyondTrust, Saunders was CFO of Bazaarvoice, which he helped triple in size during his two year tenure. Saunders remains a board adviser to the company. Before joining Bazaarvoice, Saunders served as CFO of enterprise software company Open Solutions. Prior to that, he served as CFO of Peregrine Systems, helping turn the company around after a Chapter 11 filing and negotiating its sale to HP in December 2005. Saunders was also CFO of analytical application software company HNC Software, serving the company through its acquisition by Fair Isaac Corp. in 2002. He then served as CFO of Fair Isaac, overseeing global finance and accounting, tax, investor relations and legal operations.

After Fair Isaac, Saunders joined Peregrine Systems where he helped turn around Peregrine after a financial scandal put the company in bankruptcy. Peregrine was sold to Hewlett Packard in December 2005 for over $400 million. Upon completion of this sale, Ken joined Open Solutions, an enterprise software company to the financial services industries, in January 2006 as its CFO.

Kevin Kickey

Kevin Hickey, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Kevin brings a strong history of sales and marketing leadership, as well as expertise in software operations, strategy, capital fundraising, and mergers and acquisitions to BeyondTrust, where is his responsible for worldwide sales and marketing efforts. Kevin joined BeyondTrust by way of the company’s acquisition of eEye Digital Security, where he served as CEO and Chairman. Under Kevin’s leadership, eEye experienced significant growth, launched several 'market-first' security solutions and brought the company back to category leadership. Prior to joining eEye, Kevin was CEO of NetPro Computing, where he helped grow the business before concluding its very successful sale to Quest Software. Kevin has also served as the president and CEO of Homebid.com, where he secured funding and eventually sold the business to industry leader HomeStore.com. During his seven years as president and COO at Viasoft Inc., Kevin led the company through a successful initial public offering prior to its sale. Kevin started his IT career at IBM, serving in several key marketing and executive business management roles.

Jim Zierick

Jim Zierick, Executive Vice President Product Operations

Mr. Zierick brings more than 25 years of enterprise experience building technology companies in operations and sales to BeyondTrust, where he is responsible for directing the company's global initiatives to drive product growth and technical thought leadership in the Privilege Identity Management market, as well as adjacent markets. He drives the development methodology, process and management for the entire BeyondTrust product suite.

Prior to joining BeyondTrust, Zierick served as CEO of Nirvanix, a provider of cloud storage solutions. Before joining Nirvanix, Zierick was CEO of Aspyra, a provider of information solutions for the healthcare industry. Prior to Aspyra, he was CEO of enterprise-oriented embedded control software developer LogicalApps, where he led a sale to Oracle Corporation. Prior to LogicalApps, Zierick was executive vice president of Peregrine Systems' worldwide field operations, where he oversaw a staff of 350 including sales, alliance, customer support and professional services organization, and was responsible for generating $200 million of new license support and service revenue before the sale of the company to Hewlett Packard.

Prior to joining Peregrine, Jim was a partner with McKinsey & Co. where he advised and executed a number of strategic and operational improvement plans with major technology companies. He co-led McKinsey's Southern California technology and operational effectiveness practices, leveraging deep experience in the enterprise software, server, storage and semiconductor sectors.

Mr. Zierick received his an MBA from Dartmouth's Amos Tuck School of Business and a B.E. and an A.B. from Dartmouth College in Engineering.

Marc Maiffret

Marc Maiffret, Chief Technology Officer

Marc leads BeyondTrust’s Advanced Research labs, responsible for identifying new trends in enterprise security for the benefit of the BeyondTrust product roadmap. Marc Maiffret joined BeyondTrust via the acquisition of eEye Digital Security, which he co-founded in 1998 and served as Chief Technology Officer. Marc is an industry visionary having created one of the first Vulnerability Management and also Web Application Firewall products which have been deployed worldwide and won numerous product awards. Marc is also a security research pioneer, credited with discovering some of the first major vulnerability discoveries in Microsoft software and leading one of the world’s most renowned security research teams. This has led to Marc accepting three separate invitations to testify before the United States Congress on matters of national cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection. Marc famously discovered the first Microsoft computer worm, “CodeRed” and was named one of People Magazine’s 30 People Under 30.

Brad Hibbert

Brad Hibbert, Vice President, Strategy

With over 20 years of experience in product strategy and management, Brad leads BeyondTrust’s solution strategy. He joined BeyondTrust via the company’s acquisition of eEye Digital Security, where Brad led strategy and products. Under Brad’s leadership, eEye launch several market firsts, including vulnerability management solutions for cloud, mobile and virtualization technologies. Prior to eEye, Brad served as Vice President of Strategy and Products at NetPro before its acquisition in 2008 by Quest Software. Formerly, at FastLane Technologies, which was sold to Quest Software in 2001, Brad worked extensively with key Microsoft business units on product direction and go-to-market strategies.
